Western Digital launches 320GB notebook drive

MacBook and MacBook Pro users looking to stretch the internal storage capacity of their laptops even further may want to consider Western Digital’s (WD) new Scorpio 320GB 2.5-inch Serial ATA (SATA) hard disk drive. It costs $199.99.

The drive sports a 9.5mm profile and operates at 5400 RPM, with 12 millisecond (ms) access time. It features “WhisperDrive” technology for quiet operation, and uses anti-shock technology to protect the drive mechanics and platter surfaces from shocks.
