Hamrick Software has updated VueScan, its scanning software for Mac OS X, to version 8.4.46. The new release is compatible with Mac OS X v10.5 “Leopard.” VueScan costs $39.95 in its “Standard” edition and $79.95 in its “Professional” edition.
VueScan supports 750 flatbed and film scanners, including multitudes that don’t include Mac software or Mac support from the factory. The Professional edition adds unlimited free updates, advanced color calibration and support for raw scan files.
In addition to Mac OS X v10.5 support, VueScan 8.4.46 adds support for Epson PM-T970, T990 and LP-5600 scanners; improves color support on Epson’s 2007 scanner models, and fixes problems with various scanners. The complete list of changes has been published on Hamrick’s Web site.
VueScan requires Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later.
