The Babel Company announced on Monday that Impression 2.6, the latest version of its backup utility, is now available. This free upgrade features a new ".imps" hfspax-based format for backup and restore functions, promising faster archiving and compatibility with the older ".pax" archive format. In addition, Impression 2.6 offers Unicode support for all catalog, log and session files as well as bug fixes and other performance enhancements. System requirements call for Mac OS X v.10.2.x or higher and an iTunes/Disc Recording-supported CD-R/W or DVD-R/W drive, if backing up to optical disc. Impression is a US$25 application, but you can save $10 between now and July 18 by following the rules posted on The Babel Company's promotion page.
