Macworld's iPod shuffle, second-generation 1GB Coverage

  • Review: Second-generation iPod shuffle The small size of Apple's second-generation shuffle is a testament to efficient engineering, but it also makes for a music player that could be easier to use. It's not the best-sounding player made by Apple, but given its intended use, it's a more-than-capable musical companion.
  • How to get rid of old hardware responsibly Reduce, reuse, recycle all your old gear to make the world a better place.
  • iPod shuffle, second-generation 1GB Apple replaces its compact flash-based music player with a second-generation shuffle that's half the size of its predecessor. The silver shuffle comes in only one capacity -- 1GB -- and adds a built-in clip to easily attach the music player to your clothing. The headphone jack also serves as the connection to sync and charge the shuffle. In September 2007, Apple added four more colors to the iPod shuffle line; otherwise capacity, battery life, and price remain unchanged from the 2006 models.

16GB iPod nano (sixth generation, late 2010)

With the sixth edition of the iPod nano, Apple has given the nano line its biggest makeover yet, including shrinking the player down and adding a Multi-Touch display. While some of these changes offer big improvements over the traditional Click Wheel interface, the new nano also loses some features and just might be a bit too small.
