LightTrac is a great tool to help you scout for new locations and plan a photoshoot even months ahead of time so you can be at the right spot at the right time. It uses Google map and overlays the position of sun at sunrise, sunset or at any time you select using the time slider. With the latest update, the same is also available for the moon.

Sun's azimuth and elevation changes throughout the year depending on which hemisphere you are located, so this is useful even if you think you know your spots well. LightTrac also displays different phases of the moon in the month and the current phase of the moon.
