13-inch MacBook/2.13GHz

Apple quietly updated the processor speed and hard-drive capacity of this entry-level MacBook at the end of May; it also increased the speed of the RAM to 800MHz from 667MHz, bringing it in line with the unibody MacBooks. Reviewed Full Review

If you're in the market for an affordable Mac laptop, the white MacBook is a better bargain than ever. With its impressive performance, battery life, the inclusion of FireWire, and more common mini-DVI connector, the only reason to pay more for the low-end aluminum is the updated unibody design.

Pros: Faster processor; larger capacity hard drive; only MacBook with FireWire; comparatively long battery life.

Cons: No video adapters or Apple Remote in the box.
