Shoewallet (Shoewallet.com , $10) is a pocket that you attach to a shoe by wrapping its Velcro strap under your shoelaces and over the top of the pocket to secure and close it. The wallet provides a good way to carry a Nike + iPod transmitter if you don't own a pair of Nike + shoes, and, unlike other products designed specifically for the Nike + iPod transmitter, also has room for a couple of keys, a few dollars, and an I.D. card. The company says you can carry a credit card with it, but that's only half the story. You can insert a credit card through a vertical strap that runs across the back of the wallet, but not inside the wallet.

The Shoewallet weighs less than one ounce.On the inside, it is 3 3/8 inches long and, at its widest point, 2 1/8 inches wide, narrowing to about 1 5/8 inches at the bottom. A seam that encircles the wallet adds about 1/4 inch on the bottom and sides.

It may be this wide seam that made the Shoewallet seem just a bit too clunky for us.We were also uncomfortable with the way it attached. with the Velcro strap working just fine vertically, but no fasteners to keep the wallet from moving side to side. The wallet moved when we ran, and stuck awkwardly out the sides of our 8 1/2 D shoes.

However, we found that the Shoewallet worked well and kept our keys and iPod + transmitter secure, and would recommend it for those who need to carry a few items while running but don't have pockets handy elsewhere. The Shoewallet comes in black, blue, pink, and camouflage.--Jeff Merron
