Square Box Systems Ltd. has released CatDV 3.0 (Personal Edition). CatDV is a video logging and cataloging application. The new version gains new and improved features.

With CatDV, video producers can log DV footage automatically; tag the content with metadata; use previews to check footage even when movies are stored offline; search and print; and manipulate media types beyond just video. The Personal Edition is accompanied by Pro products aimed at non-linear video editing solutions like Final Cut Pro and Avid; Workgroup Server and HTML Editions are also available.

New features in CatDV 3.0 (Personal Edition) include a new timecode calculator; drag and drop support; two grouping levels to provide more advanced category-based browsing of your clips; extra buffering to improve the quality of Live Capture video; searching for clips across multiple catalogs; and much more.

CatDV 3.0 (Personal Edition supports Mac OS 9 or higher, including Mac OS X 10.1 or higher. It costs US$79.95. Upgrades from previous versions are priced at $29.95.
