Writing for CNN/Money, Brian Clark has given Mac OS X 10.2 Jaguar the nod for his Favorite tech stuff 2003 list, billed as "the kind of gadgets that make technology fun."

Amid a 50-inch projection TV from Samsung, a Sony Clie PDA, tiny Toshiba hard drives (like what provide storage for the Apple iPod) and the Danger HipTop wireless communicator, Mac OS X 10.2 gets the award for software. Admitting that it would have been easy to give Apple's 17-inch iMac an award too, Clark noted that he wouldn't have liked the computer as much without Jaguar installed.

Calling Mac OS X 10.2 "Unix for the masses," Clark said that it's a consumer version of the most stable operating system on the planet. "Business users will love its ability to detect a wireless connection no matter where they roam. Consumers will be blown away by its simplicity and stability, as well as applications like iPhoto, iTunes, iMovie and iChat," he added.

"It just works."
