Children's educational software publisher Riverdeep has announced a strategic partnership with Knowledge Kids Network that will give the KidsEdge Web site the ability to use the popular characters and properties in the Riverdeep library.

KidsEdge is geared toward family-friendly educational games and activities focused on kids ages three to 10. The site already features more than 170 education games and activities. KidsEdge is a subscription-driven Web site that costs US$29.95 per family, per year. A single membership provides access for up to eight family members.

In addition to games and activities, KidsEdge offers progress reports and other resources for parents and guardians, an Internet safety filter, secure e-mail for kids, discounts at educational retailers, prizes, and Riverdeep software discounts.

The distribution agreement between Riverdeep and Knowledge Kids Network will yield KidsEdge activities and games based on The Learning Company's popular line of characters, including Reader Rabbit, Carmen Sandiego, ClueFinders and others.
