FileStorm and FileStorm Pro enable software developers to create disk images, CDs and standalone installers for electronic distribution. You can control the look and feel of disk images and CDs by using customized backgrounds, specific icon placement and more. FileStorm uses a graphical user interface to make the process more intuitive. The regular version of FileStorm creates disk images specifically; FileStorm Pro adds the ability to create installers.

FileStorm 1.5 can create a disk image or CD on Jaguar that will correctly display its background when mounted on Mac OS X 10.1, according to MindVision. You also get better control over how disk image icons will be displayed, with options for icon size, position and alignment.

A new interface for disc burning makes FileStorm 1.5 easier to use, and additional burners are supported. You can now select between multiple burners if you have more than one connected to your Mac. FileStorm also controls burn speed, post-burn verification, ejection and desktop mounting.

A demo version of FileStorm is available for download from MindVision's Web site. FileStorm costs US$19.95 to register; FileStorm Pro costs $79.95. Either version requires Mac OS X 10.1 or later. The 1.5 update is free for registered users of either version.
