Job Manager 3.0 has been revved to add integration for MYOB's Accounting Plus and Intuit's QuickBooks Pro accounting software packages. Job Manager comes from MetaCommunications, a software developer of client-server business solutions.
Job Manager is a job tracking, costing, and billing system that lets organizations track jobs, capture alterations, and obtain costing and billing information. Version 3.0 is compatible with Mac (though it's not been Carbonized for Mac OS X) and Windows operating systems, and configurable for remote access. It supports Microsoft SQL Server and TCP/IP connectivity.
Designed as a production level management tool for the graphics art industry, Job Manager extends the traditional accounting functionality provided by Accounting Plus and QuickBooks Pro by offering data collection of employee time/material usage for jobs, analyzing productivity, tracking job costs and status, and generating invoices automatically, Robert Long, MetaCommunications VP, said in a statement.
"By providing an integration link with Accounting Plus and QuickBooks Pro, Job Manager will allow our customers to merge their business data to see not only the accounting side, but the underlying data to support it as well," he added.
As an integrated solution, Job Manager allows users to distribute invoice data to the appropriate accounting general ledger codes, thereby transferring the data as a transaction in the accounts receivable portion of Accounting Plus and QuickBooks Pro, Long stated. This accounting integration provides a link between the production level data and traditional accounting functions (accounts receivable, general ledger, and accounts payable) provided by Accounting Plus and QuickBooks Pro, he said.
The integration links with Accounting Plus and QuickBooks Pro are available immediately and free to existing Job Manager 3.0 customers. For a limited time, users of Accounting Plus and QuickBooks Pro are eligible to save US$1,000 off the purchase of Job Manager with prices starting at under $3,800 for a five-user system.
