4D, publishers of the 4th Dimension RAD/RDBMS Environment and WebSTAR Server Suite 4.4, have announced three maintenance releases that are currently available on their Web site.

The releases, all of which will run on Mac OS 8.6 and 9.x, offer 4D users continued product maintenance and stability while providing technical improvements, according to 4D President/CEO Brendan Coveney. 4D 6.7.2 and 4D Open for Java 6.7.2 are free updates to current 4D 6.7 owners while 4D 6.5.9 is a free update to current 6.5 users.

The company also has available a public beta of 4D WebSTAR Server Suite V. The new 4D WebSTAR Server Suite V takes advantage of Mac OS X's multiprocessor support, preemptive multitasking and faster networking, without sacrificing WebSTAR's reputation for ease-of-use and security, said said CJ Holmes, chief WebSTAR engineer. There's also an overhaul of the caching sub-system provides even more performance improvements for the entire server suite, he added.
