Extensis announced today a new upgrade for Suitcase 10, its font management software. The new version, Suitcase 10.1, is now Mac OS X compatible and adds some new features for users of Mac OS X. It's available to all registered users of Suitcase 10 for free download.

Mac OS X can manipulate multiple font directories and Suitcase 10.1 adds the ability to manage them all simultaneously, Suitcase 10.1 also adds support for OpenType and TrueType fonts.

Mac OS 9 users also get an added enhancement -- an updated MenuFonts tool. With MenuFonts, users of Mac OS 8.6 - 9.2.1 can customize the way their font menus look.

Suitcase 10.1 supports Mac OS 8.6 - 9.2.1 and Mac OS X 10.1 and higher. It requires a PowerPC-based Mac, 10MB of hard drive space and 32MB of RAM for Mac OS 8.6 - 9.2.1. 128MB is required for Mac OS X users.

The full English version of Suitcase can be downloaded from Extensis' Web site. The software costs US$99.95. Upgrades from previous versions are available for $49.95; competitive upgrades cost $59.95. Suitcase 10 Server is also available for $999.95. Extensis indicates that localized language versions in French, German and Japanese are slated for release in January 2002.
