Corel Corp. announced today that CorelDraw 10 and Photo-Paint 10 would be made available to purchase as standalone applications. The two products are part of the Corel Graphics Suite 10 for Macintosh, which was released in late September for Mac OS 8.6 through Mac OS X.
"We know that professional designers require the flexibility to create their own work environment and personally select the tools that best suit their workflow. By offering CorelDRAW 10 and Corel Photo-Paint 10 as standalone applications for the Mac we are tailoring our products for their specific needs," said Ian LeGrow, executive vice-president of creative products at Corel.
CorelDRAW 10 is an application with image creation, vector and raster image effects, high-end output features and Web and page layout capabilities. Corel said the most recent version sports a customizable UI, easier to use color management and enhancements to tools.
Corel Photo-Paint 10 is a photo-editing, image composition and painting application. The newest version has a customizable interface and improved masking functionality, enhanced text tools, better drop shadowing features and automatic update and preview.
Both applications are available immediately. CorelDRAW 10 costs US$349. Registered users of CorelDRAW 8 for the Mac or CorelDRAW 6 for Mac may purchase CorelDRAW 10 for $169. Corel Photo-Paint 10 for Macintosh costs $249. Registered users of CorelDRAW 8 for Mac, Corel Photo-Paint 8 for Mac and CorelDRAW 6 for Mac may purchase Corel Photo-Paint 10 for $149.
Corel's full Graphics Suite 10 for Macintosh, which includes CorelDRAW 10, Corel Photo-Paint 10, Corel R.A.V.E., CorelTRACE 10, Corel Edition of Font Reserve and Canto Cumulus Desktop LE 5.0 costs $569.99.
