MicroNet Technology -- a company that specializes in storage solutions -- has upgraded their product line and added the Ultra3 RAIDbank, which houses up to 10 hot-swappable hard drive modules.
With a list price starting at US$5,895, delivery on advance orders for the new RAIDbank with an Ultra3 SCSI hardware controller and 1.8 Terabytes of storage will begin immediately, according to Douglas Garret, MicroNet RAID Solutions sales manager.
The RAIDbank hardware controller supports RAID levels 0, 1, 0+1, 3, and 5 to meet "any application requirement," he added. An LCD panel at the top of the unit allows for RAID configuration and management through seamless interaction with the system without the use of a dedicated application or workstation. This offers complete platform independence, Garret said. If you'd rather have a terminal interface the RAIDbank can also be administered via standard serial port with a VT100 utility.
