TECSoft, an Apple Solution Experts and FileMaker Solutions Alliance member, is offering a CD and seminar to help participants learn AppleScript and how to create software automation solutions.

The company's new Workflow Automation with AppleScript Training CD is an interactive training CD that costs US$99.

TECSoft is also offering a AppleScript fundamentals course in which participants complete hands-on exercises designed to reinforce learning, and finish the course by developing real-world AppleScript software automation solutions. The two-day Workflow Automation with AppleScript class covers AppleScript basics along with scripting FileMaker Pro, Canto Cumulus, and QuarkXPress. An optional third day emphasizes more in-depth learning and advanced AppleScript techniques, and covers scripting the Finder.

Participants will learn: how to begin working with AppleScript; how to use commands, objects, dictionaries, variables, conditional statements, repeat loops, tell statements, the object model, elements, properties, subroutines, and more; how to script FileMaker Pro, Canto Cumulus, QuarkXPress, the Finder, and other scriptable applications; and how to use AppleScript to join applications together to create software automation solutions.

They'll also receive a Participant Kit with the course Participant Guide, and the Participant CD, which contains all of the applications, files, and demos seen and used in the course. The Participant Kit also includes Danny Goodman's AppleScript Handbook: Second Edition, and ISO Productions' The Everything CD for Macintosh Scripting.
