Pinnacle Systems, Inc. today announced the availability of CineWave RT. With CineWave RT, video professionals can perform real-time editing, effects and compositing on their Macs using uncompressing standard definition (SD) video.

The system is comprised of hardware and software which works hand-in-hand with Apple's own Final Cut Pro, its pro-level digital video editing software. CineWave RT enables users to perform real-time motion control of video and graphics, image control and transitions. Because CineWave RT doesn't rely on preview effects like some other solutions, CineWave RT outputs to tape without the need for rendering.

CineWave RT costs US$9,995. The package includes a full version of Final Cut Pro, as well as Commotion Pro, Knoll Light Factory, the TARGA Cine Engine, and the CineWave RT software. Upgrades are available for $2,495. If you purchased CineWave before June 15, 2001 and you're interested in upgrading to CineWave RT, Pinnacle is offering an upgrade for $995 for a limited time. More details are available from Pinnacle's Web site.
