Willow Design is having its very first sale after 15 years in the business of making computer carrying cases. Most of the company's products are on sale through Dec. 15, following a sales drop after Sept. 11.

In 1987 Willow's first case was for the Mac SE and extended keyboard. Since then Willow has created a host of cases specifically designed for Apple products, including cases for the PowerBook G4s & G3s, iBooks, G4 towers, and all of the Apple flat panel displays.

"The year has been Willow's best ever with many new designs, great sales increases and many valued, new customers," Willow president Nigel Peck told MacCentral. "At the same time the year has turned tragic with the terrorist acts of Sept. 11. In a very small way (in the global scope of things), it affected us with a painful drop in sales."

Willow had spent the year finding, hiring and then training new staff to try and keep up with the demand for their products, he said. The abrupt sales drop meant that, to keep all those new employees, the company ended up stockpiling too many cases.

"As a 'thank you' to the Macintosh community, and as a way to reduce our inventory a bit, we're having our first sale," Peck said.

Order Willow products before Dec.7, and Willow will pay half the cost of shipping by ground in the U.S and Canada.
