Less than a month before Blizzard Entertainment will release the long-awaited expansion pack The Frozen Throne, the game maker has posted an update to Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos to bring it to version 1.06.

Version 1.06 of Warcraft III focuses on balance changes and improved counterability to certain units. Each race in Warcraft III -- Humans, Orcs, Night Elves and Undead -- have had various tweaks and changes made. All in all, more than 50 changes have been made to the game, including extensive changes to spellcaster units.

It's worth noting that replays are incompatible between game revisions, so if you've saved replays with version 1.05, you won't be able to view them with 1.06.

The new version is available for download through Battle.net, Blizzard's free online gaming service. The next time you connect to Battle.net, you'll automatically be upgraded to the new version. A standalone installer is expected as well.
