Neon Software has updated LANsurveyor, its utility to help network administrators and system managers map and manage their computer networks. New updates are available from the Web site, including a separate Xserve Edition for the version bundled on Apple's Xserve.
LANsurveyor was developed to not only map and manage network resources, but also report hardware and software assets, remotely manage and monitor computers and devices, and help measure capacity requirements and plan backup strategy.
The new version of LANsurveyor adds several new features, including enhancements to SNMP and SNMP trap handling; support for the new LANsurveyor Workgroup Edition and Enterprise edition; encryption between LANsurveyor and Neon Responders; support for Mac OS X 10.2.6; and more.
The new version of LANsurveyor is a free update for registered users of LANsurveyor 7.0.x. Upgrades are available from previous versions. For details, visit Neon Software's Web site.
