Dr. Rawstock, a Los Angeles, Calif. company that specializes in Final Cut Pro training and solutions, will host a technology open house on Monday, June 9, featuring Apple's Final Cut Pro 4.0 and AJA Video System's Io.

Final Cut Pro 4.0 will be released June 14, going on sale at 4PM. Participating Apple Authorized Resellers and Apple retail stores will have the software in hand at that time. What's more, a "4@4" kick-off event will also take place at selected stores, with theater demos and presentations given by professional editors who use Final Cut Pro in their work.

AJA's Io is an uncompressed audio/video FireWire capture device for Final Cut Pro 4. A high-end, 8- or 10-bit broadcast video device, it lets you connect professional analog or digital audio/video devices to your Power Mac G4 or PowerBook G4 through a FireWire interface. The Io costs US$2,290.

The open house will run 1-5:30 p.m. It's targeted to: broadcast professionals (including producers, directors, and editors); independent post-production houses and commercial editing facilities; independent producers; event/social videographers; industrial film and video makers; and corporate communicators and trainers.

Featured solutions will include: Apple hardware, including Studio and Apple Cinema flat-panel displays and the SuperDrive, Mac OS X, and DVD Studio Pro. The open house is free; however, space is limited, so you will have to register.
