Marathon Computer will expand its product line with the upcoming RePorter, a new port replicator.

The RePorter is a single cable extension of the FireWire, USB, and audio ports found on the backs of desktop Macs. It's built to offer a convenient way to get to those ports. One complaint about the desktop Macs is that it's difficult to access the rear ports for plugging and unplugging peripherals.

The RePorter, which has high-impact plastic housing, sports two USB ports, FireWire 400 and FireWire 800 compatible ports, and stereo 1/8-inch in and out mini audio ports.

Price hasn't yet been set, though the device is slated to ship at the end of the summer. Online pre-orders will be accepted as soon as the price is determined.
