CE Software Inc. has released QuicKeys X2, a new version of its automation utility for Mac OS X. QuicKeys X2 sports an improved interface and new features.

With QuicKeys X2, you can record the keystrokes and mouse clicks you use for common operations, then play them back as needed. You can assign tasks to be linked to hot keys, toolbar buttons, menu selections, or configure them as timed events.

New features in QuicKeys X2 includes a redesigned interface; shortcut debugging; "clip" shortcuts that store and retrieve images and text; customizable date and time formats; and much more.

QuicKeys X2 is available for US$99.95. It's a paid upgrade for previous users of QuicKeys X v1.5; that costs $19.95. Upgrades from 1.0 cost $34.95. Details are available from the Web site. A 30-day demo version is also available for download.
