Apple Computer Inc. will use its upcoming Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC) to introduce developers to the next major version of Mac OS X Server. In the session dubbed "Apple Solutions in Enterprise" the company will introduce the new version of OS X Server based on Panther and discuss how Apple products and technologies fit into today's IT environment.

The session will include an update on partners bringing solutions to the Mac OS X platform and will also feature guest speaker Tom Yager from InfoWorld, presenting his views on Apple products and the IT landscape.

The next version of Mac OS X codenamed "Panther," is expected to be one of the big stories of the conference -- Apple postponed WWDC by a month so they could deliver a better build of Panther to developers attending the conference. Until now it was unknown if Apple would show the Server version of the operating system at WWDC.

As previously reported Apple CEO Steve Jobs will give the WWDC Keynote address on Monday, June 23, at 10 am. Conference attendees will have a chance to meet the Technology Evangelists from Apple Worldwide Developer Relations and establish a personal point of contact for key Apple hardware and software technologies during a 6-7 p.m. event. Also on Monday, from 5-8 p.m., the Apple Developer Connection Reception will be held. It's a casual reception for ADC members, who will be treated to drinks and hors d'oeuveres.

On Tuesday, June 24, the Eighth Annual Apple Design Awards, expanded this year to include new QuickTime and Server Solution categories, will be held from 7-8:30 p.m. Both contests recognize "technical excellence, innovation, design quality, and ease of use."

The annual "Stump the Experts" event will run 6:30-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 25. Attendees will be able to test their knowledge of Apple's history and Mac OS trivia against that of other experts. From 8:15-10 p.m. it's time for Movie Night. During this annual WWDC tradition, participants can eat pizza and watch a film.

WWDC 2003 will be held June 23-27 in San Francisco, California.
