LANDesk Software will be demonstrating new software license monitoring and management capabilities for Mac OS X at this week's Worldwide Developer Conference. The new technology will be available as a product update to the LANDesk Management Suite solution later this year. Pricing will be announced upon availability.

The addition of the new software license management technology comes on the heels of the May 12 release of software distribution, expanded inventory and remote control support for Mac OS X in LANDesk Management Suite 7. With LANDesk Management Suite, IT administrators can manage their Mac and PC systems from the same LANDesk Management Suite console.

Mac systems appear in the network view and can be included in software distribution, inventory reporting, remote control, and now software license monitoring. In addition to Mac OS X, LANDesk supports Windows, Windows XP, Linux, and Unix in heterogeneous environments.
