Apple has posted details about the Apple Store Pro Card. It's an incentive for users interested in the new Power Mac G5 to make their purchase through Apple's own retail stores.

Given to consumers who buy the G5, the Apple Store Pro Card enables users to make an appointment with a Mac Genius to have their files transferred to their new G5. What's more, after your purchase, the Pro Card can be used to make a next-day appointment with Mac Geniuses if you have any questions or problems you need help with.

The Pro Card is also good for discounted software. After your G5 purchase you can make arrangements to come in and take a one-time 10 percent discount off software sold through the Apple Store. "Pick a day, any day," said Apple. And as a Pro Card holder, any software that you buy for your G5 -- either with your one-time discount or not -- will be installed for you by the store's resident Mac Geniuses.

Apple also noted that Pro Card members will gain access to news about upcoming events and will also be the recipients of exclusive offers. For more details, visit the Web site.
