@Last Software Inc. has updated SketchUp, the 3D design software, to version 3.0, which adds such new features as dimensions and annotation tools and the ability to export animations as AVI, MOV, and QuickTime files.

SketchUp is a tool for creating, viewing, modifying, and communicating 3D idea. Compatible with Mac OS X, the application's files can be exchanged with CAD, 3-D modeling, image editing, illustration, and animation software. In addition to the previously mentioned changes, version 3.0 offers: improved arcs, circles, and polygons; smoothed faces and soft edges; material transparency (glass); and vector output in EPS, PDF and VRML.

SketchUp 3.0 is available worldwide in English, French, German, Swedish, and Japanese for US$495. Upgrades from previous versions are $95. A demo copy is available at the @Last Software Web site.
