OpenLink Software Inc. has updated Virtuoso -- the cross platform virtual database for SQL, XML, and Web services -- to version 3.2.

The product, which is Mac OS X compatible, provides access to heterogeneous data sources (databases, XML documents, and Web Services) through standard data access interfaces such as XML, XQuery, XPath, SQL, ODBC, JDBC, OLE DB, and ADO.NET. It also integrates with runtime environments for distributed computing.

Version 3.2 incorporates full client and server support for the Blogger, Moveable Type, and MetaWeblog APIs (application programming interfaces), so users have choices regarding location, format, data storage, development environment, and the host operating system for personal, community, and corporate Weblogs. The new release also facilitates the integration of Weblog data with other enterprise data sources.

Virtuoso 3.2 for Mac OS X is now available for download. You can test drive a 30-day demo if you'd like. There are a variety of pricing configurations; contact OpenLink for details.
