OpenLink Software Inc. has announced its Universal Data Access Suite, Release 5.0. It's an update to OpenLink's ODBC connectivity software for Mac OS X, and it includes the OpenLink ODBC Administrator, ODBC drivers for all major databases, a Software Development Kit (SDK) for ODBC-compliant application and driver developers, and iODBC Driver Manager -- a runtime environment.

What's more, Universal Data Access Suite, Release 5.0 adds support for Unicode and Rendezvous. Platform and DBMS support now include JDBC 3.0 (JDK 1.4), as well as the latest shipping versions of OpenLink Virtuoso, Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM DB/2, Informix, Sybase Adaptive Server, Progress and others.

OpenLink has also made several updates to the FreeTDS Project, an open source effort that OpenLink has used to develop fast new Sybase and Microsoft SQL Server drivers.

The suite is available in single-tier and multi-tier editions for client servers or application/Web servers. Visit the Web site for pricing more details.
