Badia Software has announced five XTensions compatible with QuarkXPress 6.0 and Mac OS X (10.2 or higher).
Three -- BigPicture XT, FullMeasure XT, and ContactPage XT -- are commercial products and are available as public betas. The other two -- Vistas XT and DragNCopy XT -- are freeware. All the XTensions have been previously available for QuarkXPress 4 and 5; the updated versions take advantage of version 6's new features. Quark announced QuarkXPress 6 on June 10.
BigPicture XT, designed to assist in managing graphics and links, has been upgraded to version 2.0 and now sports a redesigned interface, sortable picture lists, integrated search engine, and new picture usage views. FullMeasure XT 3.0.1 is a control palette that provides access to over 150 functions, attributes, and tools. ContactPage XT 1.0.1 lets you create picture contact sheets with user-defined captions. With ContactPage you can catalog a folder or disk with images, create clip art manuals, or publish product thumbnails online.
Vistas XT is a navigation palette that displays a color thumbnail of the active spread; you can use it to jump to a point in the page or to a different page, zoom in and out in real time, and toggle between the last two views. DragNCopy XT allows interactive duplication of items by dragging the items while holding the Control key.
The public beta software and freebies all can be downloaded from the Badia Web site. BigPicture 2.0, FullMeasure 3.0.1, and ContactPage 1.0.1 will ship next month for US$89.99, $79.99, and $59.99, respectively.
