Extensis Inc., the company behind such products as the Suitcase font manager, has reached a definitive agreement to buy DiamondSoft Inc., the developer of the Font Reserve font management tool.

Under the agreement, DiamondSoft will maintain its office in Mill Valley, California, and operate as the San Francisco office of Extensis. Brian Berson, president and founder of DiamondSoft, will become general manager of Font Solutions for Extensis.

Extensis will market and support both Suitcase and Font Reserve products. The company will work with development teams in Portland, Oregon (where Extensis is based) and the San Francisco Bay Area to "integrate and extend technologies from both font management products," according to Extensis CEO Craig Keudell. Financial details of the DiamondSoft acquisition haven't been released.
