Alltek Vision LLC has released the Nu-View 1024 PC-to-TV converter system. The US$169.99 system is compatible with Macs used with most TFT or LCD displays and purportedly lets users convert their existing LCD or TFT monitor into a cable-ready, high-definition television for under $170.00.

The Nu-View 1024 features a built-in, cable-ready TV tuner, which delivers 125 channels of digital cable, with an automatic channel scan feature. With it, you can view cable digital television from your desktop at the industry-standard picture resolution of 680 x 740, according to Anthony Zhang, Alltek Vision's product development manager.

The converter has video source selection for TV, composite, or S-video inputs and external video source (composite and S-video) for NTSC, PAL, and SECAM. The Nu-View 1024's MTS option supports multiple audio settings (dual, mono, or SAP).
