Mac game publisher Aspyr Media Inc. sends a monthly electronic newsletter to subscribers, and the latest one was sent out this week. In it, the company noted that its Mac conversion of Zoo Tycoon "is currently in duplication," and said that it will be on store shelves within the next couple of weeks.
Zoo Tycoon puts players in the role of an owner of a zoo. You must create a zoo that's both fun for its visitors to come to and healthy for the animals -- and profitable for you, as well. Over 200 animals, exhibits and zoo materials can populate your zoo.
Originally developed by Blue Fang Games, Zoo Tycoon was published for the PC by Microsoft Corp. Aspyr Media worked with Westlake Interactive to convert the game to the Mac.
Final system requirements call for Mac OS X 10.1 or later, or Mac OS 9.2; G3/233MHz or faster; 128MB RAM; 600MB free hard disk space; video card with 16MB VRAM.
Zoo Tycoon is rated E for Everyone by the ESRB and will be available for a suggested retail price of US$49.99.
