Student scholarships available for WWDC

Cash-strapped students can apply for a student scholarship if they wish to attend this year's Worldwide Developer Conference (WWDC), Apple's annual gathering of Mac developers from around the globe. Winners of the scholarship get a free student e-ticket; a full-priced ticket to the event costs US$1,595.

WWDC 2004 runs from June 28 - July 2, 2004 in San Francisco, Calif. It serves as a springboard for Apple to help third-party developers understand how the Mac platform works and how to get the most out of established and emerging technologies. This year's event features more than 120 sessions broken into seven major tracks: Application Technologies, Development Tools, Enterprise IT, Graphics and Media, Hardware Technologies, OS Foundations and QuickTime Digital Media.

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must be enrolled full- or part-time at a college or university, have an ID number, and be at least 18 years of age. The scholarship application can be filled out online but it requires you to have a PDF version of your resume or curriculum vitae available for upload.

All applications must be submitted by Friday, March 12, 2004, 5PM Pacific Time.
