"Why in hell would you allow your software to burn a DVD that works on most consumer players (I have three, all worked flawlessly) but won't let you play [it] on a DVD player that just happens to operate in OS 9?"

I'm afraid I can't answer that Mike. In ",", Apple tells us only that "Apple DVD Player in Mac OS 9 may not recognize or play the DVD-R discs you burn in iDVD 4."

That doesn't give us a lot to go on.
