I recall, back in the summer of 2000, how it seemed that Apple was giving the shaft to analog audio. Goodbye, analog audio input jacks. Hello, USB speakers like Harman's SoundSticks. Could the death of the mini earphone jack be far behind?
How far we've come (back). Analog audio inputs abound on the Mac today. And digital audio is implemented in a smart way on the Power Mac G5, with optical input and output ports.
And those SoundSticks? Replaced by the SoundSticks II, which use an analog mini jack instead of USB... so you can use 'em with your iPod.
