Apple’s offering 13 free songs to iTunes Music Store customers in a collection called the iTunes New Music Sampler Universal Motown Edition. What’s that, you’ve not seen it? If not, you either don’t have a new iPod or don’t know the URL to get it:

iTunes can detect when a newly formatted iPod is connected to a PC or Mac. Because new iPods arrive in this state, those who connect a virgin iPod to their computer are taken to the iTunes Music Store where the offer appears at the top of the page in iTunes. These folks are asked to create an iTMS account and, once that account has been put in place, they can download the music.

But existing iTunes Music Store Customers with iPods chockfull of music can have the tunes as well. To get them, simply click this link. iTunes will open and display the page devoted to this free album. Click the Get Album button and the music will be yours.
