Aspyr Media Inc. on Wednesday has set final system requirements for the forthcoming release of Stubbs the Zombie. Stubbs is expected to ship in November for Mac and PC; it was recently announced as gold master for Xbox.

Stubbs will require Mac OS X v10.3.9 or later, a G4/1.2GHz or faster, 256MB RAM; 4GB hard disk drive space; ATI Radeon 9600 or better and Nvidia GeForce FX5200 or better with 64MB RAM, and DVD drive.

Stubbs the Zombie is a third-person action game based on the same engine that’s used in Bungie’s Halo game. It puts you in control of Stubbs, a zombie who finds himself in the futuristic city of Punchbowl, Penn. circa 1959. He feasts on the brains of the living, creating a horde of shambling zombie thralls, and can possess his enemies by using his own detachable arm.

Stubbs the Zombie is freshman effort of Wideload Games, a game company founded by ex-Bungie founder Alexander Seropian. The game is rife with the rich storyline and tongue-in-cheek humor Bungie fans have come to expect. It also has a soundtrack mainly made up of 1950’s pop songs covered by today’s popular indie bands, like Death Cab for Cutie, Cake and others. It’s rated “M” for Mature by the ESRB, and is available for pre-order for US$39.99.
