SmartLabs Inc. on Thursday announced that Perceptive Automation, creators of the Indigo Mac home automation software, now supports Smartlabs’ Insteon home control devices.

Insteon hardware is a dual-mesh home control networking technology that works both using powerlines and Radio Frequency (RF) technology. You can control lighting, security systems, thermostats, consumer electronics and sensors using Insteon technology.

Perceptive Automation’s Indigo lets users control devices from their Macs. Up until now, the product has mainly emphasized its ability to support X-10, a legacy home automation technology.

Indigo costs $89.95. Insteon products are sold separately and are available through Smarthome.
