PodOmatic is a new service that simplifies the creation of podcasting — including video podcasting — using a Mac or PC connected to the PodOmatic Web site.

Left to your own devices, creating a podcast requires you to have recording software and some way of uploading content and letting people know about it using a Really Simple Syndication-based (RSS) newsfeed. PodOmatic has been developed as an alternative for people who don’t want to be saddled with such issues.

PodOmatic allows users to host up to 250MB of content for free — all you need is a Mac or PC equipped with a microphone to get started. The service also provides video podcasting support. PodOmatic’s podMail service enables you to send and receive MP3 files into your iPod, or “e-mail” audio to your friends.
