Music hardware and software makers, M-Audio and Ableton have both said they will support Apple’s Intel-based Macs.

M-Audio posted beta drivers for the entire FireWire-compatible family of products, including FireWire 410, FireWire 1814 and the new ProjectMix I/O. Beta drivers for the Fast Track USB and Fast Track Pro have also been posted.

The company said its engineers are actively working on Intel support for the remainder of their USB interfaces. M-Audio said the rest of its software would be available in the “near future.”

Ableton announced that Live 5.2 would deliver native support for new Intel Macs, in addition to significant gains in audio performance. Live 5.2 will enter beta testing as soon as the new Intel Core Duo-equipped MacBook Pro is available, the company said.
