Gear4 — formerly known as PodGear — has introduced the PocketPower, a reserve power pack for iPods and other USB-based devices that also acts as a AAA battery recharger. The PocketPower costs £19.99 (US$34.80).

The PocketPower can provide up to an addition 8 hours of play time for the iPod, according to Gear4, and will charge any USB device like a digital camera or cell phone. Four AAA rechargeable batteries and a male to male USB cable are included, and you can use your iPod’s USB dock connector cable to attach it to the iPod. An LED flashlight is also built into the PocketPower’s casing.
