Panic on Thursday introduced Transmit 3.5, a new version of their File Transfer Protocol (FTP) client software for Mac OS X. New to this release is Universal Binary support for Intel-based Macs and other features. A free update for Transmit 3.x users, Transmit costs $29.95 to register.
Transmit lets Mac users connect to FTP servers and download or upload files to them. The software support FTP, Secure FTP (SFTP) and WebDAV file transfers.
Besides Intel-based Mac support, other new features in this release include the ability to edit any remote file in any application and have those changes automatically uploaded on save. Other changes include SOCKS proxy support, droplets, favorites import, export and search, a redesigned Get Info window, improved synchronization features and more.
