If you’ve just bought or you’re considering a new Intel-based Mac mini but you’re looking for a better price on lots of RAM than what Apple has to offer, Other World Computing (OWC) can help. The company on Thursday announced the availability of memory modules for the new machines.

Apple recommends putting the memory in matched pairs, as there are two slots. In fact, Apple has OWC beat on a 1GB memory upgrade on a build-to-order Mac mini, which costs $100 when purchased from the Apple Store. OWC sells their 1GB kit for $109. But while Apple is charging $300 for a 2GB memory upgrade (comprising two 1GB memory modules), OWC sells their 2GB kit for $229.

OWC also sells individual memory modules, if you’d prefer. They guarantee 100 percent compatibility with Intel-based Mac minis and other systems that take that kind of RAM, and offer a lifetime replacement warranty.
