MS updates Office 2004 with security fixes

Microsoft has updated its Office 2004 for Mac release with an 11.2.5 update that’s available for download using the AutoUpdate feature of Office and through the company’s Web site.

The new version improves security in Office 2004 and Excel 2004 — specifically the update corrects a problem that allows an attacker to overwrite the contents of your computer’s memory with malicious code.

Also improved in this patch is Entourage 2004. Calendar events no longer display the warning “Events and computer time zones do not match” when opened. Entourage’s performance working with Exchange.

The update also includes improvements made in previous releases.
