Quark on Wednesday announced that Raymond Schiavone has taken the company’s helm as president and chief executive officer. Linda Chase, who has been acting president since the June, 2005 departure of Kamar Aulakh, remains with Quark as senior vice president of Enterprise Products.

Schiavone comes to Quark from Arbortext, an XML-based authoring and automated publishing software developer. Prior to that, he was president of TPN Register. He also had a 14-year career as an executive at General Electric (GE).

“Over the coming years, our customers will see us not only growing our product line, but also providing additional value through expanded strategic partnerships and focus on customer service and support,” said Schiavone in a statement.
