If you’re a fan of Blizzard’s Warcraft game series, you might be interested in The Official Warcraft Encyclopedia, an online repository of all things Warcraft-related that’s actually hosted by Blizzard itself.
The expansive World of Warcraft online role playing game has expanded the lore of the Warcraft series in leaps and bounds, but that really only scratches the surface. Besides three real time strategy games and several expansions, Warcraft has also been home to a series of novels, a graphic novel series, and, if everything goes as planned, a live action movie (that’s currently in development). So it’s little surprise that Blizzard has decided to collect all information about Warcraft in one place.
The online encyclopedia contains information about all the major races represented in the game, factions and characters, and the different lands that make up the Warcraft universe. First up are details about the elves of Azeroth — the night elves, high elves and blood elves, and how they’re related. You’ll find information about Darnassian and Thalassian, the languages spoken by elves, and much more besides.
Blizzard said that it plans to update the Warcraft Encyclopedia several times a year with “significant volumes of new information.”
