Music software and hardware company IK Multimedia on Friday began shipping two products for guitarists. StealthPlug allows users to plug their guitar into a portable computer and AmpliTube 2 Live gives guitarists amp and effect models on their computer.
StealPlug is a compact 1/4-inch jack to USB audio interface, which means you can plug your guitar directly into your PowerBook or MacBook. Once connected you can use software modeling to change the tone of your guitar’s output.
Shipping with StealthPlug is AmpliTube 2 Live. AmpliTube will ship as a standalone application and a plug-in that can be used in applications such as GarageBand and Logic.
AmpliTube is fully MIDI-controllable with 15 guitar and bass amp combinations, 11 effects, mic-modeling with 2 microphones and position controls, built-in tuner and more than 128 customizable user presets. The standalone version also offers the new SpeedTrainer, an integrated audio player with pitch and speed control, for playing with or learning your favorite songs.
The StealthPlug with included software bundle costs $129.
