Apple plans to open a new brick and mortar retail store in Houston suburb Sugar Land, Texas this weekend. The new Apple store opens Saturday, Nov. 11, 2006 at 10:00 AM at the First Colony Mall.

The store will give away 1,000 t-shirts to the first customers to visit, and also plans a Grand Opening Sweepstakes which will award one winner a prize package including a MacBook, ProCare membership, silver iPod nano, iPod Hi-Fi and more. Ten first prize winners will receive one-year ProCare memberships.

The store plans workshops throughout the week to teach Mac and iPod owners how to get the most out of their gear, including training in GarageBand and iTunes, iMovie HD, iLife ‘06, iWork and more.
